Manchester United Push to Sell Casemiro Before Transfer Deadline as Exit Talks Intensify
Manchester United are working hard behind the scenes to find a buyer for Casemiro before the transfer window closes, according to reports. The Brazilian midfielder, once seen as a key player, has struggled to maintain his top form, and United are now keen to move him on.

Casemiro, who arrived at Old Trafford from Real Madrid for £70 million in 2022, has experienced a huge drop in his performances over the last two seasons. His struggles have led to heavy criticism from fans and pundits, and his time on the pitch has become more limited.

The 32-year-old midfielder hasn’t started a game under Ruben Amorim since December 30, when United suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Newcastle. In that match, he was substituted after just 64 minutes, further proving his decline in the team’s pecking order.

Things got worse for Casemiro in United’s recent 2-0 Europa League win over FCSB, where academy youngster Toby Collyer was preferred in the starting lineup. Casemiro only played the final 20 minutes of the match, which was his first appearance in a month.

Currently, Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are the club’s first-choice midfielders, while Christian Eriksen is also ahead of Casemiro in the squad selection.

Manchester United is aggressively contacting agents to assist in finding Casemiro a new club as the transfer deadline draws near. The club is hoping to secure a move for him before Monday’s 11 PM deadline, as reported by Manchester Evening News.

Casemiro still has 18 months left on his contract, but United seem determined to part ways with him, especially after Amorim’s recent comments on squad selection.

When asked why Casemiro was being left out of his lineups, Amorim explained:

“He has to have the right characteristics for how I want the team to play. I have to make choices based on that, and that’s all there is to it.”

One of the potential destinations for Casemiro is the Saudi Pro League, where his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly pushing for him to join Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo, who played with Casemiro at both Real Madrid and Manchester United, believes the Brazilian’s arrival would be a huge commercial boost for the Saudi league. . The slower pace of play in Saudi Arabia could also suit Casemiro better at this stage of his career.

It’s uncertain if United will find a buyer before the transfer window closes. Casemiro may have to play as Amorim’s backup for the rest of the season if a deal cannot be made.
