Matthijs de Ligt earns high praise from Ruben Amorim after delivering standout performances in Manchester United's recent matches.
Manchester United put in a dominant display against Leicester City, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory in the Premier League. The win was an important one for the Red Devils, with goals from Rasmus Højlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Bruno Fernandes ensuring all three points. “I think in the last three weeks, Mata [De Ligt] is doing incredible things. I hope he is going to the national team, doesn’t play a lot of games… but plays a little bit. He is doing amazing.”
De Ligt’s form has been outstanding in recent weeks. He has played the full 90 minutes in each of United’s last seven matches, including the grueling 120-minute FA Cup battle against Fulham. His ability to switch between the middle of a back three and the right-sided centre-back role has made him even more valuable.
When the Dutchman arrived from Bayern Munich last summer, some doubted whether he could stay fit for an entire season. But despite concerns about his injury record, De Ligt has only missed two matches this campaign, both due to illness.
United fans are now beginning to appreciate just how important he is to the team. With Amorim also pleased with his performances, De Ligt is proving himself to be a vital player in United’s defense.
