The young winger, already one of the most exciting talent in Europe, will stay at Sporting on loan until 2026 before joining the Blues. But why did Chelsea act so quickly to secure him? Chelsea’s deal for Quenda came out of nowhere. Unlike other transfer deals, where weeks or even months of speculation take place, there were no prior links between Chelsea and the teenager. Many expected Quenda to reunite with his former Sporting manager, Ruben Amorim, at Manchester United. Quenda has already completed his medical and signed a seven-year contract with an option to extend for an extra year. The Portuguese wonderkid is seen as a future star, and Chelsea’s plan is to use him as a winger once he arrives in 2026.
