‘Every Game Matters’—Rúben Amorim Sends Strong Message to Manchester United Squad Ahead of Crucial Europa League Clash
Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has opened up about the real challenge of competing on multiple competitions — highlighting the mental demands placed on his players as they shift focus between the Premier League and UEFA Europa League.

Speaking ahead of Manchester United’s crucial Europa League second-leg tie, Amorim was asked what makes balancing European and domestic football most difficult. His answer was clear: it’s the mindset of the players.

“The hardest part is for the players. Some players understand that if you play on Sunday, you can play Thursday. That is the first point. It doesn’t matter,” Amorim explained.

With Manchester United pushing to secure European trophy this season, Amorim’s comments shine a light on the importance of maintaining focus and intensity, regardless of whether the game is part of the Premier League schedule or a knockout clash in the Europa League.

Despite an inconsistent Premier League campaign, Amorim believes Manchester United can still end the season with a trophy. The Europa League remains a realistic opportunity for silverware, and the Portuguese manager is demanding full commitment from his squad.

“We have to again show the importance of every game at Manchester United. Every position that we have in the Premier League, you win more money. So that is important,” Amorim said, underlining the financial and competitive motivations tied to domestic league standings.

Right now United is fighting hard to qualify for Europe through the Premier League. However Winning the UEFA Europa League would secure them spot in the UEFA Champions League next season, which is a major target for the team’s long-term goals.

While Manchester United may no longer be in the Premier League title race, Amorim insisted that pride, professionalism, and performance standards remain non-negotiable.

“Of course, we don’t have nothing to fight [for]. We have this second leg [and it’s] really important for us. We know that. But we need to be competitive in every game,” he added.

The Manchester United boss is demanding a strong mentality from his players as they prepare to host a decisive Europa League fixture at Old Trafford. With the tie finely balanced, Amorim knows that hunger, focus, and effort will be just as important as tactics and quality.

As fixture congestion continues to test squad depth, Amorim is managing rotations while keeping motivation levels high. Manchester United fans will be hoping his approach pays off as they aim to progress deep into the Europa League and finish the Premier League campaign on a positive note.
