“Time to Go!”—Jack Grealish Urged to Quit Man City After Guardiola Snub Sparks Unrest
Former England keeper Paul Robinson says Grealish has lost his spark at City – and only regular football elsewhere can revive his career.
Jack Grealish’s future at Manchester City is hanging by a thread after being left out of Pep Guardiola’s matchday squad in recent weeks — a move that has sparked fresh calls for the England star to walk away this summer.
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has weighed in on the situation, claiming the time is right for Grealish to leave the Etihad. Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson insisted that Grealish is a player who needs to be playing every week to find his form and stay happy — something Guardiola hasn’t allowed him to do.
“Jack’s a better player when he plays every week,” Robinson said. “He’s not relished the situation at Man City where he may get one or two starts. Then, if he hasn’t scored… he doesn’t play again.”
According to sources close to the player, Grealish has even admitted to friends that he doesn’t expect to be a Man City player next season. His omission from the squad during the 4-0 win over Fulham has only added fuel to the fire, with speculation now growing that a summer exit is inevitable.
With Grealish now on the fringes at City, clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle, and even his former side Aston Villa are all keeping an eye on the situation.
But despite the growing interest, City aren’t keen on a loan move and will likely demand a permanent deal. The problem? His hefty £100 million price tag from four years ago has arguably distorted his current market value.
Still, Robinson believes Grealish should push for a move regardless. “For Jack himself, it may be the right move to leave — to play regular first-team football,” he said. “He’s that type of player who is going to attract attention. If you don’t want questions about Jack Grealish’s future, don’t put him on the bench.”
Guardiola has appeared increasingly irritated by questions surrounding Grealish, especially after dropping him at such a critical stage of the season. But as Robinson pointed out, the manager only has himself to blame for the growing speculation.
City, meanwhile, have already confirmed Kevin De Bruyne’s exit and are eyeing potential replacements — including Lyon’s Rayan Cherki for just £20 million. If Cherki does arrive, it could accelerate Grealish’s departure even further.
And Grealish might not be the only one out the door. Bernardo Silva is also being linked with a move away, suggesting that this summer could mark a major overhaul for the blue side of Manchester.
