“This Is What Frustrates Me the Most”—Bruno Fernandes Breaks Reveals What Really Frustrates Him About Manchester United’s Season
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has opened up about the frustration he and his teammates feel over their inconsistent performances this season, even after a strong and convincing display against Aston Villa.

United played one of their best games of the season, showing control, energy, and determination in a match that many expected to be a tough challenge. Aston Villa, who have been one of the most consistent and organised teams in the Premier League this season, were pushed back and made to look ordinary for most of the game. United created chances, pressed high up the pitch, and limited Villa’s opportunities — something fans have not seen often enough throughout this campaign.

After the final whistle, Fernandes was seen speaking with fellow midfielder Casemiro. When asked about their conversation, he revealed that he was expressing his disappointment and confusion about the team’s up-and-down form.
“This was exactly what I was telling Casemiro at the end of the game,” he told TNT Sports. “This is what frustrates me the most – that we can perform like this against one of the most consistent teams in the league this season.”

The Portugal international went on to praise Aston Villa, calling them a tough side with talented players who are well-organised and strong with the ball. He said that beating a team like Villa with such a good performance shows that United are capable of great things when they get everything right.
“There has been Aston Villa, it’s a very difficult team to play against, very well organised, very good players on the ball,” Fernandes added. “And then you can pin them back, play, create chances, don’t give any chances away.”

Despite the positive result, Fernandes admitted it’s difficult to understand why the team cannot play like that more often. The win only reminded him of the many missed chances throughout the season to deliver consistent performances.
“It’s difficult to understand that we can’t do this through the season,” he said. “But obviously I understand that the pressure of playing for this club is massive.”

These words from Fernandes reflect what many fans have been feeling. Manchester United’s season has been full of highs and lows, with moments of brilliance followed by disappointing results. Injuries, a lack of rhythm, and shaky confidence have all played a part, but Fernandes believes there’s more to it than just physical problems — the mental and emotional side of the game also plays a big role at a club like United.

Being one of the most famous and demanding clubs in world football, Manchester United brings a level of pressure that not every player can handle consistently. Fernandes acknowledged that this pressure weighs heavily on the team and can affect their performance from game to game.
