United's defeat to Spurs sparks online outrage as fans call for major summer clear-out, targeting Onana, Shaw, Mount, and Højlund.

Manchester United Fans Furious After Europa League Final Loss – Demand Four Players Be Sold Immediately.
Manchester United’s season came to a bitter end as they lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final — a result that has left fans furious and calling for several players to be sold this summer.

The final, played at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, saw Spurs lift their first trophy in 17 years thanks to a first-half goal from Brennan Johnson. Despite both teams struggling in the Premier League — finishing 16th and 17th — the match had high stakes, with Champions League qualification on the line.

For Tottenham, it was a proud moment. Manager Ange Postecoglou had promised to win silverware in his second season, and he delivered. But for United, the defeat was a major disappointment. The team looked flat, unorganized, and far from the level expected in a European final.

Fan Frustration Hits Boiling Point

After the match, many Manchester United supporters took to social media to voice their anger. Several players were heavily criticised, with fans saying they no longer want to see them wear the shirt.

Goalkeeper André Onana was one of the main targets. He has had a rough first season at the club, making several mistakes, and fans believe his time should be up.

“Onana needs to be sold and never play for this club again,” one fan wrote on X. Another added, “Onana needs to be sold in the summer. Cannot command his defence!!!! Awful.”

Defender Luke Shaw also came under fire for his role in Johnson’s winning goal. Fans felt he was too slow to react and didn’t show the sharpness needed in a final.

Mason Mount, who joined from Chelsea for £55 million, was another player fans singled out. Despite helping United in earlier rounds, he failed to make an impact in the final.

“We need to get rid of Mount, man. I’ve tried,” one supporter posted. Another described his performance as “shockingly bad.”

Højlund Experiment Questioned

Rasmus Højlund, the club’s £72 million striker, was also harshly criticised. The young forward was quiet for most of the game and struggled to get past Spurs defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

“If we’re serious about a solid rebuild next season, players like Shaw, Maguire, Onana, and Højlund should be sold, even for peanuts,” one fan wrote.

Another simply said: “Højlund should never have another game in a United kit and should be sold ASAP.”

Big Decisions Ahead

United’s failure to win the Europa League means they miss out on Champions League football next season — something that could affect their summer transfer plans.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS now part of the club’s leadership, a major squad rebuild is expected. And if fan voices are any indication, patience is running out.

The club faces a critical summer. Key decisions will need to be made — not just about transfers but about the direction and identity of the team. For now, though, the feeling among many supporters is clear: serious changes are needed, and fast.
