Speaking on BBC Radio 5Live, well-known football journalist Julien Laurens was just as harsh:

“If Chelsea don’t win today, knowing how important the game is, to let the team and the fans down in that way is a disgrace and unacceptable.”

Even if Chelsea had pulled off a miracle and turned the match around, many believe Jackson still shouldn’t be forgiven for what he did.

This red card puts even more pressure on a Chelsea squad that has struggled with discipline and consistency all season. It also raises big questions about Jackson’s future at the club.

Brought in with high hopes, the Senegal international has had a mixed first season at Stamford Bridge — scoring some important goals, but also frustrating fans with his lack of maturity.
