Manchester United Identify Two Goalkeepers to Replace Andre Onana This Summer

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly picked two goalkeepers as possible replacements for Andre Onana, who could be set to leave the club this summer.

Onana, who joined United in 2023 for £43.8 million, has had a season full of ups and downs. Although he has displayed sparks of exceptional talent, some of his performances have placed doubt on his long-term career at Old Trafford. His remarkable double save against Southampton in January has drawn comparisons to United legend Peter Schmeichel, but his future is still up in the air.

With Saudi Pro League clubs reportedly interested in signing the 28-year-old Cameroonian, United are already looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper.

According to reports from The Sun via TeamTalk, Amorim has set his sights on two young goalkeepers:
1. Senne Lammens (Royal Antwerp)
2. Lucas Chevalier (Lille)

Both goalkeepers are under contract until 2027, meaning United would need to negotiate a transfer fee to sign them.

Lucas Chevalier – The 23-year-old Lille shot-stopper has been on the radar of both Manchester United and Manchester City for months. He has been in great form for Lille this season and even earned a call-up to the French national team last year. His impressive performances have made him a highly sought-after talent, and his price tag is reportedly around €30 million (£25 million).

Senne Lammens – The Royal Antwerp goalkeeper is also attracting interest from several Premier League clubs. At just 21 years old, he is seen as a goalkeeper with huge potential. However, unlike Chevalier, Lammens has yet to make an appearance for the Belgian national team. His estimated price is much lower, around £4.5 million, but some reports suggest Lille might demand £40 million to let him go.

United won’t have an easy path to signing either of these goalkeepers. Several top European clubs are also keeping an eye on them, including their main Premier League rivals.

If Onana does leave, Amorim will have to act quickly to secure the right replacement. Both Chevalier and Lammens are young, talented, and full of potential, but whichever goalkeeper United signs will have big shoes to fill after Onana’s standout moments for the club.
